I’m Jay.
An actor, singer, dancer, writer, and producer living and working in, where else?
New York City.
An NYU alumni, Jay spent five years working in Prague where he was a principal member of the Prague Shakespeare Company. Back in New York, Jay signed with his team Malissa Young Management and BBR Talent, booking roles on CBS' FBI: MOST WANTED and FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY, and the recently released, ZOMBIE WEDDING. With an all star cast including Cheri Oteri, Kevin Chamberlin, and Heather Matarazzo, the first feature from the Weekly World News Productions is this hilarious zombie spoof, available to rent or own on all digital platforms including Prime and AppleTV.
He has also produced and starred in multiple award-winning films including TRIPLE THREAT (Best Actor at the SOHO International Film Festival), HEAD (NewFest), and FOR YEARS TO COME (OutFest). FOR YEARS TO COME is an irreverent romantic dramedy about a gay man who falls in love with his dead mother's hospice nurse, while struggling to reconcile with his elderly father...who's secretly a porn director.
“Panicked, they turn to Gus (Jay DeYonker), a sexy new friend who steps up to the plate and takes over the role.”
"DeYonker's prissy Aguecheek is delightfully droll, kicking up his heels in a spritely gigue or running from a duel."
"It is a pleasure to watch Roberts peacock around the stage. His Sir Toby and Jay DeYonker's Sir Andrew are a match made in heaven."
"Standing out in particular is Jay DeYonker as Jack, the boy who trades a cow for magic beans. His role called for a lot of emotive singing and quite some range. He managed to deliver an unexpected level of intensity at crucial moments, as well as bring a bumbling but lovable appeal to his acting."
"Special mention deserves the collaboration Dagmar with tremendous Jay DeYonker, the actor of Prague Shakespeare company. These pieces are worth watching again and again. This duo was full of particular vibrations, energy. The interaction between the dancers were on a subtle level, gifting the emotional feeling of infant´s joy."
"Jay DeYonker has the audience laughing uncontrollably with his histrionic, deconstructed Ophelia."
"You can see why he has become a common name in conversations within the performance and expat community."
